PRE-REGISTRATION is available via Active.com (+ $3 charge) or Sports Base Online (6% charge) closing on Friday, 3/28/2008 at 4:30p.m. Pre-registered racers will get a fast track check-in on race day. Pre-registration and check-in are available on Saturday, 3/29/2008, 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the cabin.
USAC-MTB ANNUAL LICENSE REQUIRED FOR EXPERTS AND RANKINGS. Annual Licenses are $60 ($30 for Juniors) and can be purchased at the race site, but historically this takes up to six weeks for the card to be received back. Online purchasing is much quicker. Also, to include this race in your USAC-MTB ranking, an annual license must be purchased prior to race day. Take advantage of this elevated level race and pre-purchase a license at www.usacycling.org.
The race director reserves the right to combine classes (classes with less than five riders may be incorporated into other classes). HELMETS REQUIRED.
NEW First Timers Race:
Introducing a new race open to anyone who is new to MTB racing and does not want
to jump into a Beginner Race. This is for males and females of all ages.
The course will be modified (no steep down-hill start and Jailbreak cut in Trail
of Tears). Prizes to all finishers. Starts at 2:45pm.
Prizes:
1 Lap Races: Beginner Classes earn trophies; Juniors earn Jr. Olympic
medals according to subdivisions.
2 Lap Races: Sport Classes, Single Speed, Clydesdale, and Sport/Expert 50+ will be awarded merchandise. We often have enough merchandise to go deeper than advertised, so be sure to check on this after the race. Junior Sport will receive Jr. Olympic medals 3-deep plus merchandise if placing in top 5 or 8 in race.

Elite: 100% payback less $3 USAC & TBRA fees: see

Pro/Semi-Pro Women: Above payback plus bonus of $65 for each pro in the
Pro/Expert Women race
Pro/Semi-Pro Men: $2,000 minus total payout of the Pro/Expert Women’s race
The Course:
Chickasaw Trace is a 300 acre park operated by the Maury County Parks and
Recreation Dept. and located on the banks of the Duck River and Knob Creek in
Columbia, TN. The mountain bike trail was built and is maintained by the
Columbia Cycling Club. The cross-country races will consist of multiple laps on
a 9-mile course. The race course consists of single track (90%), some open
fields, and a dirt and paved road starting section.
