Mule Day Kick 5K Run The Mule Day Kick 5K Run is a certified 3.1-mile run that begins at the Riverwalk Park near downtown Columbia TN. The course will meander through the Riverside neighborhood and return on Riverside Drive. The new course has hills, but is easier than previous years. You’ll especially like the long down-sloping last mile along the river. 1-Mile Family Trot This 1-mile run begins at 9:00 a.m. and is for all ages, but awards are for ages 4-12 only. The course will include a part of the new Riverwalk. We give t-shirts and completion certificates to everyone, and we give ribbons to the top three finishers for ages 4 & under, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, & 12 for both boys and girls. We want everyone to exercise: Proceeds for this race benefiting the City of Columbia playgrounds and the “We Build People” campaign of the Maury County YMCA. This program gives free and discounted access to the YMCA facility. Entry and Packet Pickup Mail-in registration ends March 31, $20 for 5k, $12 1-mile;
Online Entry ends April 3 (adds $3
charge). Race morning registration is $25 for 5k and $12 for 1-Mile.
Packet pickup is available on Friday at the YMCA (1446 Oaks Springs,
Columbia). Registration and packet pickup is available at 6:30-7:30 on
race morning at Riverwalk Park (or at neighboring Riverside Elementary
if raining). Race Day Information The race location is 102 Riverside Dr., Columbia TN. From Hwy 31 (North Garden St.) at Quizno’s take 5th Street east, go two blocks, cross the Duck River bridge, parking is to the left at Riverside Elementary. The 5k starts at 8:00 a.m.; the 1-Mile run starts at 9:00 a.m. Awards will begin after the 1-mile run. Showers are available at the YMCA afterwards. Awards Stroller 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-65, 65-79, 80 and over. Stroller division. Local Elementary-Middle School Incentive All students are requested to train for three weeks with practices three times per week (and sign a statement to this effect.) The Mule Day Kick committee wants to encourage running and fitness to the children in our community. In order to promote this, we are offering entry to the race for $5.00 (and will waive entry fees for those unable to pay). Each student will receive a race t-shirt and a certificate. For
